Number masking

Let two people talk while both real numbers stay private

Your app connects a rider and a driver, a buyer and a seller or a guest and a host. They hear each other. Neither sees the other's phone number.

FAQ

Number masking FAQs

What is number masking?expand_more

Number masking connects two people on a phone call without either of them seeing the other's real number. Each person sees a number that belongs to your service instead.

Who uses number masking?expand_more

Any service that puts two people in touch: ride and delivery apps, marketplaces, home services, rentals and recruiters. It keeps personal numbers private while people still talk directly.

How does it work?expand_more

Your app asks MCM for a masked number for a pair of people. When either person calls it, MCM connects them to the other. When the job is over, you close the session and the number stops working for that pair.

Can I mask text messages too?expand_more

Ask your MCM account team. Masked texting depends on the countries and numbers you use, so it is not promised on this page.

Can I record masked calls?expand_more

Call recording is a separate feature. Ask your account team how it works with masked calls, and check the recording rules in the places you operate.

Which countries are supported?expand_more

That depends on the numbers available. MCM provides numbers in many countries. Ask your account team about the ones you need.

Can I offer number masking under my own brand?expand_more

Yes. Partners launch MCM under their own logo, domain and apps, and Comms APIs can be part of what customers build on. There is no license fee or setup bill, and MCM earns as you grow.
