Ethernet Private Line
An Ethernet Private Line (EPL) provides businesses with a dedicated point-to-point Ethernet connection between locations. It offers secure, reliable networking without encryption. Speeds range from 10Mbps to 10Gbps, making EPL suitable for organizations that need to share data and resources over a high-performance network.
EPL associations provide efficient quality of service (QoS) as they can be initiated and terminated without special assistance. It follows a direct point-to-point path for secure data connections for applications like file sharing, backup, and credit card processing. It is also used for sending voice, video and other data over a local network. It may be referred to as Point-to-Point, Metro Ethernet or Carrier Ethernet Service.
